Journey Home Named Worship Artist Of The Year
Journey Home was named "Worship Artist Of The Year" in the 2009 Momentum Awards and presented in Nashville, Tennessee at the end of March. The awards, sponsored by Indieheaven, recognize Christian independent artists pursuing excellence in Christian music. The Katinas Recorded "Because"
Hey Everyone!
Recap Of March
Well . . . this has been a very blessed month for Journey Home. I'm excited to share with you that The Katinas have recorded Because which I co-wrote with our producer, Kyle Lee; and they will be releasing it to stores nationwide on April 29th! The name of the album is called Still. They've had four #1 hits, and they've chosen Because for the radio single. I'm truly blown away by God's goodness.
We were gone to Van Buren, Arkansas for three days where we played at Disciple Now and led worship for First Baptist Church on Sunday morning for their congregation. There were around 1000 in attendance. We made a lot of new friends and hope to see them again before too long. Their camera crew filmed all the services, so we should have some videos up on the website and MySpace very soon.
If you weren't able to make it to Harvest House on March 1st, you missed a real treat not because we were there but because the coffee was soooo good! That was our first time to play an acoustic set, and we had a blast. I'm sure we'll be visiting Harvest House again in the future.
Momentum Awards
As many of you know we are in the top 5 finalists for Worship Artist Of The Year in the Momentum Awards. We will be heading to Franklin, Tennessee for the CIA (Christian Independent Alliance) Summit and awards presentation next week. Tommy and I are leaving a little early for some much needed rest and relaxation, and then James and Caleb will be driving up to join us for the event. The Summit is a 2 day conference for independent Christian artists ending with the awards presentation on Saturday evening. We'll send out an update when we get back and let everyone know the outcome. Thanks again for all the voting you guys did in February! Y'all are amazing!
Night Of Worship with Journey Home - April 4th!
Journey Home will be playing at The Mission Church in Mount Pleasant for a Night Of Worship on Friday, April 4th, beginning at 7pm. Please help us spread the word by inviting your friends. We're looking forward to sharing a couple of brand new songs with you that night. It's been awhile since we played in Mount Pleasant, and we're excited to have the opportunity and to introduce you to our newest member, Craig Yeager. Everything Else
We are very excited to announce that Journey Home is now the proud owner of a black enclosed trailer. Yea! And . . . the best part is that we now have equipment to go in the trailer, thus greatly simplifying our lives and travel. God is so good!
