Journey Home

Well, let’s see . . . I was born in California. I was fortunate enough to be brought up in a Christian home. I think the day after I was born I was in church. I always had an interest in music as a kid. When I was eleven, I visited a church where they asked the congregation if anyone was interested in learning to play an instrument. I taught myself to play bass so I could be on the youth worship team.

I met Tommy and Shelley when I was in junior high, and I was actually in their youth group. In 2004, Shelley asked me to play with them somewhere, and I’ve been playing in the band ever since. My musical influences would probably have to be Drew from Rhythm, Pocket Full Of Rocks, Sonic Flood, Casting Crowns, Dave Matthews, Creed, Nickelback, and D.C. Talk.

In my spare time I like to watch movies, play volleyball, and play acoustic guitar. My favorite thing to do when I’m not playing music, sleeping, or eating is hanging out with my best friends Caleb, Chris (a.k.a. Stoner), Eric (a.k.a. Boog), Tim (a.k.a. TimotheousPrime), and my brothers Paul and Robbie. My idea of a perfect day would be sleeping ‘til 1:00, having breakfast at 3:00, eating dinner at 5:00 and being back in bed by 10:00. :) Believe it or not, I don’t really like Chinese food. I love Starbucks, Texas Roadhouse, Outback Steakhouse, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Johnny Carinos. As you can see I like coffee, steak, and lasagna.

I was saved when I was nine. What I’ve learned in my Christian walk is that God never gives up on us. The things I’ve been through in the last couple of years have taught me that the only thing I can be sure of is God—that He is always there, and that He will never abandon us.

The band . . . what can I say? I love every one of them like they’re my family. I really enjoy playing with them. We keep each other accountable. We all talk, hang out, and call each other. I think the best time we have with each other is when we worship together. There’s nothing more awesome than the presence of the Lord that comes during worship.
